Tyrant - Under The Dark Mystic Sky

Not the American Trad-Metal outfit, this is symphonic black metal from Japan.
I've uploaded Under The Dark Mystic Sky, which was the better of the two albums I listened to. Grimoires was alright, but fairly boring.

On UTDMS however, there is some really good music. It is largely keyboard driven, but not in a pretentious way (on this album at least).
The harsh vocals are nothing special. Not bad, not outstanding. There are some very nice clean vocals used sparingly throughout.
The guitar is a little further back in the mix than in traditional black metal, but it complements the ambiance of the album nicely IMO. The guitar does get carried away into wankery, but this only happens now and then.

Apotheosis - Farthest From The Sun

A thrash metal/symphonic black metal one man band from Malta. Sauron composes all of the music for Apotheosis. Although the band was formed in autumn of 1993, it wasn’t until 2002 that Sauron released a full length, the four track epic Farthest From The Sun. "This album is appealing from the get-go, just look at the song titles for a start. Considering how it has the unfortunate stablemates of the 'symphonic black metal' genre, it hasn't picked up any of their negative influence. Windir - Soknardalr

Windir (Warrior in English) was a folkloric black metal band from Sogndal, Norway. The band combined black metal with Norwegian folk music and mythology. The band was formed in 1994, but did not release an album until 1997. Windir was a project of vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Terje "Valfar" Bakken.

Burzum - Once Emperor

Morgul - All Dead Here...

Morgul emerged from the countryside surrounding Oslo, Norway in the year 1991. In 2004, After much hesitation and thoughts of leaving the music scene all together Morguls frontman (Jack D. Ripper - vocals, guitar, bass, keyboard) re-enters Soundsuite and self finances All Dead Here..., featuring Pete Johansen on violins. 1 year later the album is released on the label Season Of Mist. Jack is now residing in the United States (Detroit, Michigan), where he is working on his next album.

Fleurety - Min Tid Skal Komme

A Post-Black/Avant-Garde Metal band from Ytre Enebakk, Norway. Fleurety started out with structual influences from early rock, but later broadened their musical horizon by experimenting with various elements of Jazz and Industrial music. In 1995, the band released the album Min Tid Skal Komme, as a cooperation between Aesthetic Death Records and Misanthropy Records. This recording featured a Progressive/Psychedelic Black Metal style with atonal harmonics, folk music elements, and female vocals by Norwegian pop singer Marian Aas Hansen.
